We hold you close within our hearts Mattie and there you shall remain. To walk with us the rest of our lives until we meet again. So rest in peace dear Mattie and thanks for all you've done. We pray that god has given you the wings you've truly won. A great grandson Mattie will be remembered and loved as long as I live and way beyond.

Thank you to all who have visited this site and have left their wishes and prayers for Carrie, Joshua, and I.
Matthew was a super person, and he was a blessing to us all. I know he is in Heaven now looking down on us all and smiling. For now he can see all the love poured out by everyone he touched. I will pray for all of you and I will also smile, for I too can see all the love poured out from family and friends. so thank you too all and may God watch over you all. Mark (Matties Dad)

Matthew,
From the very moment God started planning your conception, he had a special plan for you. You were chosen to become one of God's angel's sent down before us from heaven.
Now is your chosen time to be called upon once again, to return to the angel's that are in heaven.
Proudly, spread your wings and soar up into heaven's gates to meet your creator, Jesus Christ. For all your work here on earth is done. For it is time for you to place your hand into God's hand. And walk side by side, to ask all your questions. Because God is the only one who truly has those long overdue answers to be delivered straight to your hands.
In God's heavenly name we do so
humbly pray, Amen.
Until the time we are together again, you will always be in my heart. I will think of you often through out my own life's journey's end.
Love, Hugs, and Kisses,

Dear Family,
My heart is saddened for your loss,
The load now heavy for the cost.
The price that was paid is so heavy to bare,
the pain and heartache that we all must share.
A promise is hidden for this tender time,
To reach out and claim it, you wont be denied.
For God is still here in the mist.
You can feel his love and
His heavenly kiss.
You are not alone, I can hear him say,
Peace be with you, I'm just a call away.
Reach out and listen to his tender voice,
For your Child sits beside me,
He made the right choice.
My prayers are with your family,

Dear McQuade Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know it seems unbearable now, but trust in God and lean on Him, and you'll find your load lighter. Matthew will be greatly missed. He was a very courageous boy. You are in my prayers. I pray your memories will give you comfort. Love you Josh. Sure do miss you since you left Middle School and went to Reidsville Sr. High. I miss seeing you out front riding up and down the sidewalk waiting for your bus. Jaleel used to like to hitch a ride. I will continue to pray for you. Love ya. Mr. and Mrs. McQuade, I am sorry for your loss of Matthew. The kids in his class and I will miss him greatly. We have fond memories of Matt. He was always flying in the wheel chair down the hall and I would say, "Matt, you are going to get a speeding ticket" or the times I would make him come to the board and along with a classmate, he would have to work a math problem much to his dislike. He didn't say much, but you could read his face (his gritting teeth or his smirking grin) Matt said alot. His classmates and his teachers (Ms. Weston, Mrs. Roark, Mrs. Slaughter Ms. Braodnax and Mr. Smith) will keep Matt in our memories and you and your family in our prayers.

Carrie, Mark & Josh,
I am so sorry for your loss! We all loved Matthew so much & he will be missed more than you will know. I have so many happy memories from all the times I came to visit. I will miss playing Kings in the corner with him. I know that God is taking good care of him & he is looking down on all of us with a great big grin on his face. I am sorry that we have not been able to come & visit in the past few years, I wished that he could have met Andrew. I love you all & you will continue to be in my prayers. God bless.
Love,

My dearest family,
I am so sorry that we cannot come and say our goodbyes in person. Matthew will always be in our hearts. Our memories are very vivid, from Brittany trying to help with toys or video games and him telling her to go away to him holding Jason as a baby with the largest smile he could give. His laughter and excitement of when we would pull in front of the house wondering what little thing I would have for him will be one of my most cherrished memories. I will always cherrish the first Christmas that I spent with all of you making cookies and a huge mess in the kitchen, seeing the pure fun on his face while icing the cookies. Even eating more that what got on them. To Sunday's Nascar race and the battle of which one of our favorite drivers would win or even wreck.
I know that he is in a more peaceful place now. Carrie and Mark you are wonderful parents who raised a very sweet little man. Josh you are a great big brother. You always looked after him. I know we haven't seen each other much or spoken, but I will always love all of you very much. Brittany and Jason love you even more. You are in our prayers and our hearts always.
Love always,
Auntie Jamie

Dear Matthew's Family,
I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am about your loss. What I will always remember about Matthew is how he would race his wheelchair around the track at Moss Street. I met Matthew at Moss Street and loved to watch him on the track with the other children and if you watched very closely, you could see children hitching a ride with Matthew until a teacher noticed and then they would have to get off. Matthew thought this was so funny, he really enjoyed that excitement. Now that I work at Reidsville Middle, I can still see Matthew racing in the hallways, the children laughing with him. I remember the children who were always willing to help him even though he could do a lot on his own, it made the others feel so useful, just to know that they helped someone. Matthew will be a student that will always be remembered here at Reidsville Middle for the memories he created. We will hold on to the memories, we will talk and speak of Matthew often so his memory will forever remain alive. I pray that you will find comfort in your memories of Matthew. I pray that you will feel the presence of God each day, I pray that he will make each day easier to bear. I know you will never forget, but I pray that you hold on to the memories to get you through each day. I will continue to lift your name and your family in prayer each day. God Bless You all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
