Matthew James Pasowicz

February 10, 1986 - August 31, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Matthew James Pasowicz, age 39, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at his home in Sterling, Virginia.

Matthew was born on February 10, 1986, and grew up surrounded by love and laughter. He was the devoted son of Bonny and Joel Pasowicz, the cherished brother of Becca, and uncle to Sam and Andy. To his family and countless friends, Matt was a bright light whose presence filled every room with warmth, wit, and an easy smile.

He was educated at James Madison High School, Gilmore Academy, and Niagara University, where he built lasting friendships and developed the foundation for a successful career in senior living. Most recently, he served as a Partner at Kensington Senior Living, where his dedication, compassion, and leadership touched the lives of colleagues, residents, and their families alike.

Matthew lived life with energy and passion. An avid golfer, he could often be found on the course, enjoying both the game and the camaraderie it brought. He was a loyal Washington Capitals, Commanders and Nationals fan, cheering for his teams through every season. Above all, he will be remembered as a true and generous friend - someone who always had time to listen, laugh, and lift others up.

He is survived by his parents, Bonny and Joel, his sister Becca, niece Sam and nephew Andy as well as his faithful dog Louie. He leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, friends, and colleagues who will carry forward the joy and kindness he so freely gave.

Matthew's life, though far too short, was rich in love, laughter, and meaning. His memory will forever remain a beacon for those who were blessed to know him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Matthew's memory to Animal Care Center - ACC St. John

Matt, you have always been kind and thoughtful-the kind of person who made others feel truly seen and heard. You were such a strong advocate for those who depended on you-our team, residents, and families. You always showed up for us (even when I was giving you a hard time).

I´ll hold onto the sound of your laugh and the way your side comments were always perfectly timed-just what was needed to lighten the moment.

You will be deeply missed, my friend. Your spirit and impact will never be forgotten. Thank you for the strength, the encouragement, and the light you brought into the lives of so many.

With love and light,

Iris
