I'm really grateful that I got play alongside Matt a handful of times, and he was great fun to be around, a genuine and genuinely friendly person. Thanks to Alan, Chris, Eric, John and any other Grandsons for the chance to meet and get to know Matt, and getting to play music with all of you.

Tommy and I are very sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Matt´s friendship since he joined the Grandsons and have appreciated hearing him
play at Dietle´s for the past several years. He will be missed; may his memory be eternal.

DC swing dancers have known and enjoyed Matt's drumming for years. Our hearts break for all our Grandsons friends. We share your sadness and are fortunate to have known him. May his memory be a blessing.

Beyond being a friend and colleague, Matt was a great person to ride to a performance with. There was always something to talk about, whether it was music or what was going on with either of us, or complaints about the state of the universe and its indignities. Matt was a steady presence in my life and I will miss him in ways haven´t yet realized.
