He was my customer at the bank in LA 1987 or 1988. Once he took me to listen to him his singing performance.
He had a beautiful voice.
We became good friends.
I can't believe when searching for him I found obituary.

So sorry my best friend is gone! Maurice took me under his wing in my early twenties. We worked together at Hyde Park Motors BMW in Los Angeles in the late 70's. Maurice, his roommate Bernard and my other co worker Ralph and Curtis Mo's other room, mate were almost inseparable. Even though I was only three years younger than Maurice, he became my big brother. He protected me, guided me, entertained me and taught me valuable life lessons. We had so much fun together. I truly knew that Maurice loved and trusted me like a real brother. Although, I feel so bewildered that he's gone and we will not be having anymore 3 or 4 hour phone conversations anymore, I feel relieved that his struggle is over. I love you brother! and know that we'll see each other again. My prayers go out to his super classy mom Helen and the rest of his family and friends! R.I.P. Reese!

On the couple of occasions that we saw each other, at our introduction at our father's funeral in Miami and once in NY at his invitation to his night club engagement and after party, Terry was warm, deeply embracing and just fun to be around. I am so sorry to hear of his transition and I wish that I could have been there to personally support the family. My thoughts are with Terry's mom and grandmother and I know so many cousins, aunts & uncles and countless friends. I will be careful to keep you in front of me in my quiet time and prayer in the days to come -- because I know this is hard to settle in your hearts!

Your sister in DC will continue to hold a space of love for you!

I so wish I could have been at Maurice's funeral today. We've been the best of friends ever since our childhood days in Springfield Gardens. Maurice was one of my most supportive friends. This is a devastating loss……there are no words. Fly and be free in the great beyond, my friend, where you will suffer no more. Know that I am missing you and will think of you always. Sending my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Helen and the rest of Maurice's family.
