KILGORE — Services for Max Ray Guinn, 85, of Liberty City, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at McCary's Chapel Methodist Church, with the Reverend Charlotte Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Mariah Cemetery. Mr. Guinn passed away Monday, November 22, 2011, in Liberty City.
Mr. Guinn was born November 23, 1925, to Scape and Jessie Guinn. He loved gospel quartet music, country western music and westerns on TV. He was a member of McCary's Chapel Methodist Church, and retired from Sabine I.S.D. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed his land and always enjoyed working.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marguerite Guinn.
Mr. Guinn is survived by his children, Georgia Joiner of Liberty City, Andy Guinn and wife, Wanda, of Liberty City and Jane McCary and husband, L.V., of Kingsbury, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmie M. and Frances Guinn of Liberty City; grandchildren, Monty McCary and wife, Amanda, Patrick McCary and wife, Heather, Ryan McCary and wife, Amanda, April Guinn, Amber Guinn, Chad Guinn and Dana Joiner; great-grandchildren, Elena McCary, Joel McCary, Emily McCary, Keelyn McCary and Karisma Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, at the funeral home.
