Published by Storke Funeral Home from Jan. 3 to Jan. 5, 2016.
Maxie L. Broaddus, 49 of Sparta passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 31, 2015. A lifelong resident of Caroline, Maxie spent his entire life farming the land in and around his native county. After his father's death, when Maxie was 16, he dedicated his life to hard, physical labor and had a work ethic that only increased up until the time of his death. My Sincere Condolences to Maxi's daughters, family, loved ones and friends. I knew Maxi through my business dealings with him.He was always my favotite customer. Over the many years of our business interactions I came to recognize how very special Maxi was. No matter when we'd talk on the phone he was always light-hearted, optimistic and jovial even when things weren't going so well with his work. I never once hesitated to pick up the phone and call him. Even though he was one of the busiest farmers I know, he always made time for cordial and friendly conversation with me. I was always amazed at how calm and composed he sounded even while handling some kind of business crisis. One thing he did manage to convey was his pride and love for his daughters. It was evident that they were so very important to him it was as if his love and affection for them was a big part of his drive for success in his business and life in general. He surely will be missed!

Maxie you will be missed by so many. One thing that will forever warm my heart is when you took my younger son for a ride in your combine at my friend Suzanne's place. Bobby will never forget that , and God love the farmer who touched so many lives. Heaven is yours now.
