Born in Ames, Iowa and died in Vancouver, British Columbia. Beloved son of Dr. Mark Kurtis Trzcinski (Vancouver) and Stéphanie Robitaille (Ottawa), brother of Gabrielle (Montréal) and Ambroise (Ottawa). Predeceased by his maternal grandmother Jacqueline Roy (Matane), he leaves behind his maternal grandfather Dr. Noël Robitaille (La Porte City, Iowa); his paternal grandparents Dr. Mark Francis Stinski and Dr. Mary Ellen Lester Stinski (North Liberty, Iowa) and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, colleagues and friends. A beautiful swimmer; a powerful rower and former member of Team Nova Scotia; an avid cyclist; a tireless jogger; a fearless sailor; an unbeatable chess player; a proficient French grammarian; a fascinated tourist; a helpful mechanic; a kind ear; a gentle heart; an unforgettable smile; a lasagna monster and finally: a generous organ donor. To know him was a privilege, to love him was a gift and to be loved by him was a genuine treasure. A Roman Catholic funeral Mass was held at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ottawa on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 10 a.m., followed by a private interment.

Thank you for your decision to allow Maximilien to be an organ donor. In doing so you have changed so many other people's lives -- the recipients and their grateful families. As a mother who also recently lost a son, as he awaited a transplant, my heart and gratitude go out to you.
