Maxine WELLS Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 30, 2016.
WELLS Maxine Lynette 06.05.1951 - 28.05.2016 Passed away suddenly at her home at Stanley. Dearly loved wife of Graham. Devoted mother and friend of daughter and son-in-law Wanita Wells and Tony Eldridge, son Ritchie, daughter and son-in-law Hayley and Daniel Upton, daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Andrew Carswell. Cherished Granny Max of Lilly and Caleb, Rushton and Dexter, Olli and Rio. Valued friend of Sarah Hawkins, mother of Lilly and Caleb. An amazingly strong and independent woman who was at her happiest when serving and providing for others around her. Your unexpected parting has left us shattered, however, the selfless devotion to your family and your amazing ability to portray love, mutual consideration and a practical application of your Christian faith remains fixed in our minds forever. Your resilience and compassion will guide us and comfort us. We didn't get to say goodbye, but you will live on in our hearts and lives. A service in Stanley will be advised at a later date.

So shocked by the passing of a wonderful woman, wife, mother and great community supporter. My deepest sympathy to Graham and their children. I was often welcomed into their home at Hanlon House where they made me feel like a long lost brother. Their home was a beautiful resting place for friends, tourists and in fact all. I'm sad it has been a year since I saw her face to face albeit we shared many things via social media. I will miss her presence greatly as will her family and community.
Rest in peace Maxine, you will be long remembered.

Thanks for being a Facebook friend Maxine. Loved hearing about your family, your grandkids, your holidays, and all those who became your friends through your family business.
My memories of you and Graham were from a long time ago, when I spent time working in Smithton in the late 1980's, and it was lovely to connect with you again recently.
You will be sorely missed.

A wonderful person has departed far too early. We were so lucky to call you a friend. It was a tragedy that bought us together and a tragedy that takes us apart. Rest in peace Maxine and we are thankful for having the opportunity of knowing such a beautiful person.
