Maynard Holt

Maynard B. Holt, age 72, of Galion died Friday July 19, 2013 surrounded by his family at Galion Pointe. He was born July 19, 1941 in Galion to the late Merlin B. and Elizabeth A. ( Cox ) Holt.

Maynard was a 1959 graduate of Iberia High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He then earned three degrees from North Central Ohio Technical College in Electrical , Electronic, and Mechanical Engineering. He had retired from HPM in Mt. Gilead where he worked in research and development. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and a life member of the Am Vets. Maynard was very generous with both his talents and resources to those who had a need.

On June 6, 1987 in Clarkston, GA., Maynard married the former Peggy S. Shindledecker and she survives in Galion.

In addition to his wife Peggy, Maynard is survived by his sons; Rex Holt of El Sobrante, CA. and Tracy Holt of Shepherdsville, Ky.; one grandson Gregory Holt; and brother Lavon Holt of Marengo.

Friends may call Wednesday July 24, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Reverend Mark Schaeufele will officiate and the burial will follow in the Iberia Cemetery with military honors.
