I only just discovered the news of Megan's passing. A retired teacher doesn't expect to read her students's obituaries, and I am broken hearted. You Lloyd, and Megan stand out in my 40 year career as the nicest people ever, in my French classes. I truly mourn the loss of a great person.

My favourite psalm for Megan
Psalm 57
Be merciful unto me,O God,be merciful
unto me:for my soul trusteth in thee:yea,in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
May God find this tender soul.

It was a great shock to hear about Megan and I can only echo what others have written. It has been way too many years since I had seen Megan but her wonderful spirit, mischief, talent and warmth remain present with me as if no time had passed. She leaves wonderful memories with the many people she has touched in her life.
My heartfelt thoughts go out to Valery, Don, Lloyd, Michelle and Denis as well as to her extended families and friends.

I only learned this week of Megan's passing last summer. My heart is so heavy but I will always remember our days at Algonquin College...laughing so hard we ended up in tears. Megan was a spirited woman, so incredibly bright and energetic. When she entered a room you knew you were in the company of someone special. To Megan's family, my thoughts are with you. May Megan's spirit and character live on in her daughter Michelle and in all those who loved and appreciated her.

I am heartbroken to learn of Megan's passing. I knew Megan when she was concertmaster and I was the conductor at the Parkdale Orchestra. She was a wonderful violinist and a wonderfully warm and sweet lady, and sometimes delightfully whacky (a feature about her that I adored).
Everyone in the orchestra loved her.
I hadn't seen her for some years, so this is a terrible shock.
Please know that her family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

I just learned of Megan's death today. Oh dear. She gave me fiddle lessons and we became friends. Megan was so much fun, so compassionate, had an infectious laugh. We lost touch but I still thought of her. I'm so sorry, Denis.

Megan,
Taught my aughter violin for a year and was cherished by all of us, for her enthusiasm and sensitivity to a reserved little girl. Her loss leaves us all saddened, and the world minus a sweet melody.

Megan was a lively sprite, a ray of sunshine, an inspiring colleague, a nurturing teacher, a loving mother... It is with great sadness that I learned of her passing. I had the privilege to train with Megan at Suzuki Kingston with Helen Brunner over many summers. She taught my daughter Julie Murphy, and offered group lessons with me for her studio and mine for many years. We played in the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra together. I also taught Kindermusik classes to her daughter Michelle just after she was born. She shared her love of music and her zest for life with everyone she touched.
I learned of her passing while teaching in Waterloo at the SOSI Suzuki Institute. Many teachers were there that have been touched by Megan. I regret that I could not be at the funeral for this reason but remembered her on that day by playing one of her favourite songs, Chorus From Judas Maccabeus, with all my students that day.
May these fond memories help to relieve the pain and sorrow of her passing. She was truly a gift to those she touched.

I first met Megan when we lived on Fairway Hill. I remember her for her laugh and her huge love of life. I saw her a few years ago in Ottawa, walking down the street. I called out to her and we had a nice chat, catching up on our lives. She made me grin -- she still had the same irrepressible sense of humour and infectious laugh. She was a force! My condolences to her family.

They say people come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. The reason, Megan shared her incredible creative spirit, her music and her ever so gentle way of touching clay. The season she shared was like the summer, warm, glowing and ever so brilliant in light. I will continue to be humbled throughout my lifetime to have been honored to have known her. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Growing up with Megan as an aunt was amazing and inspiring. She created a fun loving atmosphere and always made other people smile. She was so pure and beautiful inside and out. Some people have a certain aura about them that shines, that shows their wonderful personality and Megan definetely radiated. For me, I remember her smile and her calm, collected grace that extended throughout all aspects of her life. I recollect on her playing her violin, on her delicious perfume, and of the "Big Bird" eye-spy story that she always said with a laugh. I truly miss Auntie Megan and hope that she rests in peace with God.

After playing violin with the Ottawa Chamber Orchestra for a couple of years, I was introduced to Megan to be her stand partner. We were stand partners for about two years. I could never get a grip on her colours on her scores, but I could tell her passion to music was from her own soul. Her enthusiasms were like mine, "spontaneous". Through music we gained a friendship and through that friendship, I was introduced to Moira seven years ago. God bless Megan for the gift she gave. By just being herself.

One of the fondest memories I have of Megan was at the most recent Kingston Symphony House Tour. I remember thinking to myself, what exquisite playing, does she have any idea how beautiful her gift of music is?
Megan was a treasure, and her loss is a true tragedy - she will be greatly missed.
We never know how much time we have on this earth, but we all have this wonderful opportunity to be a blessing to others. Megan was certainly that, and more. She touched other people's lives in a tremendous way, mine included, and I'm heartbroken to have lost such a wonderful friend.
My prayers are with her family, as this is such a difficult time.

Megan was an inspirational violin teacher who made every aspect of learning an absolute joy. Her enthusiastic and warm spirit could brighten anyone's day. Megan was able to inspire her students in ways most teachers could never do. There was never a "wrong way" with Megan, she would find a way for her students to learn anything whether it was with a page full of highlighted bars of up bows and downs bows or words to go with a rhythm we couldn't master.
Megan was an angel that came into my life; she taught me how to play an instrument that has brought me so many places and allowed me to meet many wonderful people. Every time I open my case and smell the rose oil she always had in hers I will think of our angel, Megan.
