Meghan Thompson Obituary
On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Dr. Meghan Genelle Jackson Thompson, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, entered into eternal rest. Meghan is survived by her devoted husband, Khalil; her darling daughter, Olivia Grace; her loving parents, Dr. Anthony Jackson, Sr and Ms. Berthen Purchase; her brothers Marcus Hall, Kerry Hall, and Anthony Jackson, Jr; her in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Oswald Thompson, Hakim Thompson (Lauren), and Jihan Myers (Heter); as well as a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 9:30am followed by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Ivy Beyond the Wall at 10am until the time of the funeral services at 11am at Alfred Street Baptist Church, 301 S Alfred St., Alexandria, VA 22314. Interment Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Arrg. by McGuire

Meghan's father, the late Dr. Anthony Jackson, was one of my best friends. I got to know Meghan when she was a child. When I would come over to see Tony at their home, she was always smiling and engaging. She was Daddy's little girl and Tony was so proud of her as we all are. Her life and death remind me of a book entitled "When Bad Thinks Happen to Good People." Meghan was such a loving, caring and brilliant young lady. What happened to her is a constant tragedy in my mind, but I find, from time to time, solace in knowing what she gave in her short life and realizing that she is resting in Heaven. May we all remember her as she was truly a bright shining light. God Bless Her

Meghan, to say am heartbroken to learn that you are gone is an understatement.
I met Meghan in Kenya about 19 years ago when she was an exchange student at my uni. We developed a quick friendship that lasted all these years. We spoke last in May 2019 and shared updates about our lives. You told me about Olivia, sent me a cute video of her. I told you I'd be relocating to DC and we were so excited about the reunion, and introducing our daughters to each other!
I have sent a few messages since, so yesterday I Googled you to try and get an alternative contact.
Meghan you were such a beautiful person in and out. I was only 19 when I met you, yet the impact you had on my life is immeasurable.
I took it for granted that you'd always be here, that I would see you again....

Dr. Jackson was my daughter's pediatrician her sudden death was a shock to us all. Heaven definitely gained an angel. God bless her family and friends. Prayfully there will be peace and comfort for you all. We will miss her beautiful smile with every visit. She has truly been missed.

Just found out yesterday that Dr. Jackson passed, but I wanted to send my condolences to her family and friends. Dr. Jackson has been my daughters pediatrician for the last 10 years. She was such a funny and kind person. I wanted to let her family know that she touched so many lives through medicine and just being a mother herself. Praying for continued strength and comfort.

Dr. Jackson was a wonderful, spirited pediatrician. Her relatability put my teen at ease, so much so, she requested that Dr. Jackson be her regular pediatrician. As soon as doctor Jackson entered the room, I knew he would be in great hands. We just saw her this past May and I asked her about Olivia and she was excited to talk about her. I am deeply saddened by this tragic news. My two year old son has been with Meghan Jackson since he was an infant. I received a letter from Kaiser informing me about her passing and I am in total shock. Meghan Jackson had such a beautiful spirit and smile when she walked in the room.
