Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she spent her teenage years in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She graduated as an Advanced Student from the University of Wisconsin and worked briefly as a social worker in Chicago. She then came out west and worked as an agent for Liberty Mutual for 12 years, and finished her working career as an agent with State Farm.Melanie was the beloved domestic partner for many years to Al Laskoff, who was with her at the end. She died of cancer.
I will miss her terribly and so will the line dancing group at the Doelger Senior Center, along with the many friends she made in the Sea Cliff area.
She requested that there be no services. I would like to thank Drs. Peter Anastassiou, Mirvis, Kramer and their staffs for the care they gave her. Rest in peace my love.
