Melinda Lanette Lee Davis, 39, of Lufkin, was born October 27, 1967, in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the Patricia Ann (Fisher) and Royce Wayne Lee. She passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at her residence. Melinda was a homemaker and a beloved mother, daughter and sister. She was a 1986 graduate of Central High School. Melinda liked to cook and to take care of others. She loved flowers of all kinds, and enjoyed the holidays. Melinda had lived in Lufkin all her life and was of the United Pentecostal faith. Survivors include her daughter, Brittany Davis of Lufkin; son, Clint Davis of Lufkin; mother, Patricia Batson of Lufkin; stepfather, Lane Batson of Port Arthur; sister, Mellissa Page of Lufkin; brother, Michael Batson of Lufkin; grandparents, Arthur and Juanita Fisher of Lufkin; former husband, Charles Davis of Lufkin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Ramona Davis of Lufkin; uncle, Jerry Fisher; cousins, Jerry and Theresa Fisher, Karen and Jeff Havard; brother-in-law, Glenn Page; special nephew, Casey Page; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Scogin, Donald Scogin, Charles Loving, Jerry Fisher, Eric Jordan and Gary Loving. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Fisher and Jimmy Scogin. Services for Melinda will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2007, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend W.L. Bullard officiating. Interment will follow in the Aldredge Cemetery. Gipson Funeral Home; Todd Stracener, director.

I'm so sorry for your loss,Melinda and I we're good friends in school,we always told everyone that we we're cousins because we did share the same Aunt Ima Rhoden but we weren't related to each other at all,I was just going through my old year book the other night and was telling my kids about her,it's such a shock to hear of her passing I am so sorry.
