Melissa Rachel Messenger
January 29, 1977 - December 13, 2022.
With great sorrow we share the passing of Melissa Rachel Messenger.
Her compassion, her sense of humor, along with her intelligence and wit, endeared her to others. She cherished her beloved family and friends and appreciated the heartfelt support and love they bestowed on her throughout her life. Although she managed much adversity in life, she gladly shared her insights with others through speaking, writing, and helping others overcome their problems.
Melissa was her happiest self being a mom. She blossomed when Stella was born and nourished her development. During her last days, she faced suffering with hope and a smile. Now she is at peace and her generosity, grace, and love continue to live on in all of us who knew her.
Her passing leaves a giant empty place in all of our lives. Our challenge is to keep Melissa’s spirit and goodness alive in all those we touch.
Melissa was the loving mother to Stella
The loving daughter of Juanita (deceased) and Thomas Messenger (Barbara)
The loving sister to Michelle Renae Dapkus (John) and Mark Brown (deceased)(Pam)
Loving Aunt to Tommy, Cheryl, Melanie, Brad, Ashley, Samantha, and Mark
Great aunt to Candace, Amber, Amy, Noah, Jonah, and Drew.
Dear Niece of Lamar (deceased), Nicole, Suzy, Danny, David (deceased), Michele, Maddy, Alycia and dear cousin to Maureen, Scott, Joel, Nathan, Katrina, Gladys, Max, Jordan, Sammy, Becky, and Emmy.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in honor of Melissa for Stella directed to John Dapkus or Tom Messenger.

I worked with Melissa. I have never met someone so resilient and full of passion. She had the best smile and lit up any room she entered. I appreciated her honesty and her ability to own her stuff. Her greatest love was her daughter, Stella, and I know all the best of Melissa will live on in her daughter. I thought of you often, Melissa, and sent you courage and hope always. I know you will know what this means when I say, don´t love you! Lol! I miss you, stubborn woman! May all the best memories comfort those who knew and loved you.

What I remember most is when our mother spent her last couple years at Tommy's house she told me she would look forward to Mel coming from school. Just knowing she was in the house bought our quite peace and joy. Mom said could feel Mel's energy and her enthusiasm for life though out the house.
