She was born September 8, 1974 in Battle Creek, Michigan daughter of Donald Duane and Judy Mae (Anthony) Johnson. Missy was a lifelong Burr Oak resident and a graduate of Burr Oak High School with the class of 1992. On June 19, 1999 she married William Mishler at the Marion Mennonite Church in Howe, Indiana. Missy had been employed by Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis for five years until healthy issues caused her to take a leave of absence. She was a member of the Burr Oak Missionary Church. She enjoyed crocheting, was an avid reader and loved the big cats, especially the white tigers. Missy loved the weekly "Dinner and a Movie" she shared with her mom and daughter Tina. She is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, William; one daughter: Christina "Tina" Johnson of Burr Oak; one son: Michael Mishler at home; parents: Don and Judy Johnson of Burr Oak; one sister: Angela Kay Regan of Monroe, Tennessee; one brother: Franklin Elmer Johnson of Burr Oak; grandmothers: Goldie Anthony and Donna Sweet both of Burr Oak and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers: Harold F. Johnson and Frank E. Anthony. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Melissa Mishler will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. George Milliman of the Burr Oak Missionary Church will officiate.
