In loving memory of a beloved wife, soulmate and beautiful mother, Melody Cheung- Lee. She was a devoted and caring daughter, sister, dear friend, Godly woman, a compassionate and caring physician, and a treasured and redeemed child of God. Melody went home to be with her Lord Jesus on March 15, 2016 at the age of 36 after sustaining a cardiac event.
Though young in years, she lived a full and abundant life. Born in Nanjing, China, she came to Alberta, Canada at the age of 8. From humble beginnings, she learned the value of life and that of each human being. She learned that, with God's grace, honest hard work, determination and perseverance can have its rewards. She was a woman with a brilliant mind and excelled in everything she pursued. She became greatly accomplished at a very young age, and received many awards, distinction and recognition.
Being a loving, compassionate and kind-spirited individual, she touched the lives of all those who crossed paths with her both as a person and as a medical dermatologist. She was an exceptionally beautiful person inside and out, most lovely and pure, full of humility and grace, faithful and loyal, wise beyond her years, a shining soul.
Together with her husband Mao, they were blessed with a wonderful and beautiful son, Ethan. She loved Ethan more than anything in this world. In her own words, Ethan was the best blessing God had bestowed on her life.
She is deeply and dearly loved by her husband and soulmate Mao-Cheng Lee, her son Ethan Christopher Lee, her sister Lydia Cheung, her parents Xin Long Cheung and Ling Mei Fan and parents-in-law Hung-Yuan Lee and Shio-Yung Wang, sister-in-law Sabrina Ching Chih Lee and the many sisters and brothers in Christ, friends and colleagues. She has faithfully run her race and gone home heavenward ahead of them. She will always be lovingly remembered and treasured in their memories until they shall be reunited again in God's coming Kingdom.
Visitation will take place on Friday March 25 at Connelly-McKinley's South Edmonton Chapel located on 4820 Meridian Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Celebration of Melody's life will be held on Saturday March 26, 2016 at 12:40 p.m. at the Edmonton Chinese Alliance Church (9120-146 Street NW) with Reverend Henry Trickey, followed by interment at Glenwood Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home (52356 Range Road 232, Sherwood Park).

I was lucky enough to have her treat me quite a while ago. She was an original, no one like her. I was hoping to return but just found out about her passing away. She may be gone but her caring, loving and compassion will remain with all who loved her or was lucky enough to meet this extraordinary Doctor. I taught Melody when she was in junior high school. She stood out as one of those brilliant students that you sometimes see in a classroom - artistic, precise, keen, compassionate and skillful. She excelled in academics. As fate had it, many years later l was one of her patients, with a minor dermatological issue. She also treated a few family members of mine. She was professional, personal and considerate.

I am so shocked to know this bad news! My deepest condolences to the family. Several members of my family are Dr. Cheung-Lee's patients, and have been under her care. She fixed our skin concerns other dermatologists had not been able to resolve. There were times she explained what the condition is called in Chinese. That's very special. We are benefited by her great knowledge, experience and passion to patients. Due to her passing-away, not only her family lost a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, also my family lost a great dermatologist, Edmontonians lost a great dermatologist, and we lost a great lecturer at the U of A.
