I met atty Melvin Cooper at work while I was a paralegal at keesler AFB. He helped us defend a client at trial. Our client was acquitted. Mr Cooper was an awesome defense attorney. Miss him to this day. Our Lord our God is good. Amen

My heartfelt condolences go out to Melvin's family and friends. He was a colleague. Although I didn't know him well, our paths crossed many times over the years and he was always a gentleman.

You were a great leader, loyal friend, excellent and skillful lawyer and most of all a great mentor. You helped me in more ways than you may have known, I will cherish every laugh and memory shared with you. You once told me that I was your angel on earth and now you are my angel in heaven. Melvin and I were more than friends, we were literally brothers.We talked at least three times a week for years. We were both class of 1962 at Lanier High School,roommates at Alcorn State University and members of the Alcorn A-Club. During the football games, Melvin suggested that I call him to keep him updated on what was happening throughout the game. We were so close that my daughters called him "daddy coop." I am going to miss you "brother".

Melvin and I were more than friends, we were literally like"brothers". We talked at least three times a week for years. We were class of 1962 at Lanier, members of the A-Club, and roommates at Alcorn State University. For all the Alcorn football games, I would call him to give him an update on what was happening through out the game.
JB Sutton,Cleophus Amerson and I would travel to Biloxi to watch his"Saints" play. We were so close that my daughters called him "daddy coop." I am going to miss you brother.

I am saddened deeply by the passing of this dear friend of many decades. Melvin and I were the same age and we had similar law practices. We bonded a long time ago and that bond never faltered. He was a fine man and an excellent lawyer. I'll never forget him and will always miss him. My sincere condolences to his family.

My Condolences to Mr Cooper and family.He was always pleasant and cordial whenever I had to assist him at my Post Office.I did not know that he was a star basketball player for Alcorn College until I assisted him with 50 or more programs about his exploits that he was sending out! So to Mr Cooper May he RIP!!!
