Lyons, Melvin Charles, Ret. Cmdr, USNavy, 60, of Sarasota, Fl. died Nov. 21, 2010. Survivors include his wife of 32yrs, Alida, two daughters, Kristina (Justin) Sherry of Sarasota and Victoria of Augusta, Ga; two sons, Neil (Mary) of Sarasota and Eric of Siesta Key; grandchildren Angelyn and Victoria Sherry, two loving brothers: Mike Lyons of Shoreland, Wash. and Gerry (Barbara) Lyons of Ashland, Ky. nephew Matthew (Holly) Lyons, great niece, Aspen of Versailles, Ky. and niece Katie Lyons, of Indianapolis, Ind. Mel's parents, Dr. Tom and Betty Lyons, also preceded him in death. Mel grew up in Stockton and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
Contributions may be made to St. Mary's High School, Easter Seal Society or St. Mary's Dining Room.
