I was a childhood friend of Melvin's. He and David Bernard and I would go pheasant hunting in Klamath Falls west of So. 6th, across from the Tower theater. Pretty much just tule fields then but lots of pheasants. We didn't have a retriever dog but Melvin was a sprinter and the only guy I ever saw run down a pheasant on the ground. He was fast. Condolences to you all for your loss. I always liked Melvin.
Jim.
