Melvin Reeves

Melvin Reeves, 72, of Cottonwood, Ariz., passed away April 16, 2013.
He was born Nov. 16, 1940, in Cottonwood to Edward and Sybil Reeves (Wright).
He was a veteran of the United States Army. Melvin worked for the United States Postal Service in Klamath Falls, Ore., where he retired. He then moved back to Cottonwood, where he built his home and resided for 16 years with his wife Bonnie and little dog Sparky.
Mel was a trap shooter and participated in trap shoots across the West Coast. He enjoyed boating on Lake Powell. He restored old classic cars, his latest venture being a 1940 Ford Deluxe. Most of all, he was an American hunter and sportsman.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie of 33 years; two sons Aaron Reeves of Keno, Ore., and Brett Reeves of Eugene, Ore. He also leaves behind three stepchildren Shane Blofsky of Brookings, Ore., Teresa McEvoy of Reno, Nev., and Jayson Blofsky of Visalia, Calif., six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Mavis Dick, and brothers Steve and Michael Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Ed and Sybil Reeves and older brother Ray Reeves.
Mel was loved by all who knew him.
