Melvin Sampson

Melvin A. Sampson "Mel, Dad, Chief, Pup, Uncle Mel & Mr. Sampson" of Kingston MA, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth MA on January 8, 2023, at the age of Ninety-Two with his daughter and niece by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine L. (Cox) Sampson. Loving Father of Linda Wrightington and her husband Kevin; Grandfather to Stephen & Stephanie and Great Grandfather to Zachary, Mariah & Joselyn all of Kingston MA. Loving Father of Gordon Sampson and his wife Christine; Grandfather to Jessica, Nicole & Tiffany and Great Grandfather to Ava, Lulu & Olivia all of Sarasota FL. Brother of the late LeRoy F. Sampson and Uncle to Kathleen F. (Sampson) Conroy.

Mel was a veteran who proudly served in both the Navy & Army. He was a licensed master plumber/gas fitter. Worked for Commonwealth Gas (Eversource) until his early retirement at the age of Fifty-Five. Mel was a member of the Shriners and Freemasons of Plymouth Lodge AF&AM, American Legion Post 40 and the Cold Spring Club. Melvin enjoyed playing cards, fishing, boating, walking, cribbage, sudoku, puzzles and living life to the fullest.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. Celebrate with those that bring love & joy to your life, by raising a glass as we toast to Mel for the lessons he taught us on being the best that we can be; for the heart and souls that he touched along this journey of life. CHEERS!
