Mercedes Marie Brewer

A floor clerk with Walmart in Gonzales, she died at 3:02 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in Tulsa, Okla. She was 58, a resident of Gonzales and native of Donaldsonville. Visiting at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, Friday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. until recitation of the Rosary at 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Ayo E. Efodigbue, MSP, and Deacon Ed Gauthreaux, concelebrant. Interment in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. She is survived by her mother, Emily Onezine; two sons, Anthony Paul Brewer and Horace Tyrone Brewer, both of Donaldsonville; four sisters, Brenda White, Elouise Dabney, Emily Goin and Joyce Smith; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Howard Jr.; a brother, Joseph Howard III; two sisters, Glenda Jacobs and Gail Cotton; and a granddaughter, Tyriel Renee Brewer.
