I first met Tom and Meredith Walters, and their two boys Rusty and Duane in 1971, when I was a newly baptized member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was eighteen years old at that time. I had met my future wife, Tracy Ann Corman, at a Mobil gas station in Westlake Village, California, where I worked as a service station attendant. I had helped her with a mechanical problem with her Volkswagen, and she telephoned the station later that day to invite me to a youth fireside at her Bishop´s home in Westlake Village. It was there I was introduced to the Church - and later to the missionaries. Tracy sat with me as I listened intently to the missionary discussions over several weeks that were taught to me by Elder Wayne Monroe Fairbanks and Elder Potter. Following my baptism, I began to meet and get to know members of the Church in Westlake Village... including the family of Tom and Meredith Walters. They were very much a role model and positive example of a strong gospel family to Tracy and me, and we were married the following year in April 1972 in Thousand Oaks, California.
I joined the U.S. Air Force later that year, and Tracy and I continued our marriage and life in the Air Force as we travelled throughout the United States, Korea, Germany, and other locations. Over the years we would periodically return to Southern California to visit with our parents, and during each of those visits we located Tom and Meredith and their boys in places like Canyon Country and Santa Maria. In Canyon Country we were introduced to the newborns Ammon and Aaron. Years later, in the mid-1980s, we travelled north from Camarillo, in Ventura County to Santa Maria and saw Meredith in her home and drove to the Walters Village Pharmacy to see Tom at his work. They were always an inspiring family and strong role models to us. I miss seeing them as time and distance were often in the way.
After 52 years of marriage, Tracy and I think and speak of Tom and Meredith often, and will always miss them.

This is one of the dearest people in my life. She raised 4 wonderful boys three of which I personally knew. Meredith was the embodiment of Jesus Christ and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. I have tried express myself as it pertains to her memory and who she really was here on earth. After 2 months of prayerfully considering what I could say that would honor her and properly honor her boys I decided to use music. This song conveys who Meredith was and the simple legacy she left. She bubbled over Jesus and everytime I got to enjoy Meredith´s company the Holy Spirit just oozed out of her. Mom Walters thank you for how you love your life. Thank you for the simple way you love out the saviors love. Thank you for living out loud your hurts and disappointments being very careful to keep our savior front and center trying to be like him! I leave this song here to fully express how you touched me and how you lived your life. We will meet again at the feet of Jesus!

Meredith was a sweet generous friend. We got to know each other through church. She never failed to call on holidays and my birthday just to check up on me. I will surely miss her.

Meredith was such a special lady. I wish the last time I saw her, I would have known it was the last time. I think she knew I thought the world of her, at least, I hope so. The most kind and gentle friend I have known. She came from good stock, Jim and Madge Thomson. Meredith sprinkled joy where ever she was. My deepest sympathy to Bruce and whole family. I will never forget her. Barbara Watkins, Heppner, OR

I loved Meredith. She was so sweet and loving. I only got to know her while she was living at Highland Glen. She has touched my heart forever. I will miss her.
