Michael Lee Alley

Michael Lee Alley, born on August 11, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on March 9, 2025, in Copperas Cove, Texas. He was 57 years old.

Michael, known to many as Mike, led a life marked by dedication, intellect, and deep care for those around him. Fluent in both German and English, he brought a unique perspective and cultural awareness to every conversation. His academic journey took him through Baylor University, where he earned his bachelor's degree, and later to Tarleton State University for his master's degree-an achievement that reflected his commitment to learning and personal growth.

Mike served with pride and enthusiasm as a Sargent tank commander in the United States Army. His time in service was not just a career but a calling that he embraced wholeheartedly. He found great fulfillment in this role and carried the discipline and leadership it instilled into all areas of his life.

Among the many joys in Mike's life was his son, Noah A. Alley. Mike looked forward to every opportunity to speak with or see Noah; their bond was one of the most cherished parts of his life. His love for family extended deeply to his siblings-his brother Michael J. Alley; his sisters Laura L. Wetherwax (née Alley) and her husband Dan; and Victoria L. Tumilson (née Alley) and her husband Don. As well as his sister-in-law Debbie Alley. He also held a special place in his heart for his nieces Sam, Stephanie, and Jazlyn; and nephews Brandon, Timothy, Riley, Thomas, and Mitchell.

Mike was predeceased by his father Nelson Alley; his mother Rita Ruth Riesen-Taft, his brother Grady Alley; and his nephew Robert. Their memories remained close to him throughout his life.

Those who knew Mike remember him as a smart and caring man who stood firmly by his beliefs. His passion was evident in everything he did-from conversations with loved ones to the way he approached work and service. He loved deeply and lived with conviction.
