ANDERSON, Michael Edward Jr., of Clarkston; passed suddenly October 30, 2022 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Jennifer; loving father of Audrey Smith, Ryan (Mia) Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Jessica (Tyler) Brashaw, Nicholas Anderson, Bryce Anderson, Connor Anderson and Reardon Anderson; proud grandfather of Ava Brashaw, Layla Brashaw, Cecilia Brashaw, Zyan Smith, Camden Smith, Adelyn Memering, and Amelia Smith; special brother of William (Zoraida) Anderson, Carol (Joseph) Gallagher, Doreen (Raul) Anderson , and Karen (John) Mastria.
With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we honor Mike’s service to our country as a sailor in the United States Navy. Stationed in Crane, Indiana, Mike was truly honored upon receiving recognition as the #1 recruit in his training class which earned him the prestigious “Navy Club of the United States Military Excellence Award.” Following his graduation from training, Mike went on to serve as a Naval Hospital Corpsman.
Following his naval service, Mike went on to graduate from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1984, earning his degree in Computer Science. After several years in the industry, Mike became a successful Chief Information Officer and executive leader in his field, and eventually answered the call of entrepreneurship by becoming the CEO & Founder of his own company.
While Mike was always a hard worker and dedicated to his career, he had a passion for something far greater in life,…his children. He was simply born to be a Dad and put his children first at all times. Always giving, forever teaching, the greatest coach, and loved expressing his inner being through dancing, singing and making Dad jokes. His children were loved unconditionally. Mike was a father through & through and it was, by far, his Superhero talent. Mike lived for his children and his love for each of them was rooted deep within.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. I met Michael when he was enlisted in the US Navy, and stationed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana. We worked in the same building where he was a Hospital Corpsman at the dispensary where he treated patients. Michael was very handsome in his Navy uniform. He always had a quick wit and a great joking personality. Michael was a very good person and over the many years since we parted ways we always remained friends. Michael will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathy to the family, Bill, Doreen, Karen, Carol, and families and to our daughter Audrey, Ryan, Tyler, Jessica, Nicholas, Bryce, Connor and Reardon on the great loss of your Father. May God comfort you in your time of great loss and heal your grieving hearts.

Mike was always a joy to talk to because we had a lot of the same viewpoints about life and parenting. I will miss him greatly and the entire Everest family is heartbroken. Rest in peace my friend.

Knowing Mike made me a better man. He listened intently, offered honest advice, and engaged in witty banter that encouraged conversation. But above all, the love he had for his kids was infectious. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t share how much he loved every single one of his children. I am extremely proud to have had Mike as a friend. I hope everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, remembers him as the strong, smart, and loving guy that he was. Rest In Peace My Friend.

Mike was one of the first people my husband and I met at Everest. He made us feel so welcome. He was incredibly witty, charming, and always had great life stories to share. He was the definition of a loving and dedicated father. Mike was a staple at Everest and will be greatly missed.
