I knew Mike well when he worked in Nantes, France and I was in his zone. We met several times after our missions and I have been in his home in Texas. We had a wonderful 2 hour talk a few years back between General Conference Sessions. I will always remember it. Mike was a great man and had many enduring experiences throughout his life. He and his wife will be blessed forever.

Remembering with love you and your family...au revoir
November 6, 2014
Dear Elaine: My thoughts are with you and your family---I worked with Mike in SLC after his mission to France and mine to England. It was the summer of 1963--He was a good friend, and I have wondered through the years where he was. So happy to see he found a good wife and that you have a great family. My wife died several years ago, and how grateful I am for six children and 24 grandchildren. Wish I had put forth the effort to keep in touch as I enjoyed Mikes laugh and sense of humor. Also his free thinking. Sincerely, Jerry Smith, Mesa, Arizona

Dear Elaine and children,
So sorry to see Mike's obituary today. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences. The attached photos show us in Charleroi. I was Mikes first companion. I had only been out 4 months and neither of us spoke french. We had some exciting times. I've enjoyed the facebook updates the last few years.
Love, Pymm and Judi
