Michael Blackford Obituary
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary K. Hall; survived by his daughter, Cathrine Jones; his father, George Blackford, two brothers, George Blackford and Pat Blackford; sister, Diane Webb; and four grandchildren, Tia, Michael, Eric Jr., and Mariah.
Mike belonged to the Rocky Mountain Pace, where he enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and playing poker with his friends. Mike is remembered for his love of fishing, wittyness and being a wonderful Grandpa.
Mike served in the United States Army in Vietnam with the 55th Combat Engineer Company. He was deployed three times and was decorated.
Visitation Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, Carefree and Oro Blanco, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Graveside services Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., Staging Area 'B' at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
Arrangements under the direction of Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

My grandfather was a man that accomplished many things throughout his life, he tought me many different thing that I will never forget.My grandfather Micheal F. Blackford will be dearly missed but will never be forgotten I love you grandpa and as I go on in my life the thing you have done for me and tought me will remain fresh within my memories of you as if they were given to me yesterday rest in peace and god bless.

he was a good grandfather he taught me and my brother how to fish he was there when i caught my first trout and i thank him and love him for all that he has done for me
