Michael Boldt Obituary

Michael Gary Boldt, 69, of Moline, Illinois, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, died while vacationing in Florida, on February 11, 2010. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Runge Mortuary in Davenport, Iowa. Funeral services for family and close friends will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa at 10:00 a.m. followed by a private burial at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa. All family and friends are invited to a 1:30 p.m. luncheon reception on Friday, February 19, 2010 at the IBEW union hall located at 1700 52nd Avenue, Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials may be made to Smile Train.

Michael G. Boldt was born in Davenport, Iowa on December 6, 1940 to Clifford and Thelma (Murphy) Boldt. Mike attended schools in Davenport and graduated from Davenport High School in 1959. Mike served in the National Guard in the 1960's. He married Sharon Diane Ward on October 9, 1965. Mike and Sharon shared a wonderful 38 year marriage raising their three children Michelle, Jason and Ryan. Sharon preceded Mike in death on December 28, 2003. Mike was a Journeyman Electrician for 45 years and served as an active member in Local IBEW #145. Mike was the Recording Secretary for IBEW #145 from 1978 to 2002 attending and recording over 650 meetings. Mike married Victoria Plumb on September 15, 2007 in Davenport, Iowa. Mike enjoyed being involved in the IBEW Union, serving his local community and church family, reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Mike's philosophy was to take the "high road" and always do what was right. Mike enjoyed his various roles in life and will be remembered as a wonderful spouse, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Those left to honor Mike's memory include his loving wife Vicki; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Darrin Womack, of Golden Valley, Minnesota.; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stacy Boldt, of Davenport, Iowa; his son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Stephanie Boldt, of Davenport, IA; his seven grandchildren, Ethan and Bridget Womack, Hunter Diane Boldt and Kyle, Andrew, Jack and Nicholas Boldt; his sister and brother-in-law Eddie and Don Tudehope of Sioux City, Iowa ; his brother and sister-in-law Neil and Marsha Boldt of East Moline, Illinois, his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Marilyn Boldt of Davenport; his sister and brother-in-law Ginger and Jim Kaucher of Davenport; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kay and Art Johnson, his step children Tom and Heidi Willers of Allen, Texas; Chris and Ann Willers of Washington, Iowa; Bryan and Malissa Willers of Washington, Iowa and his step grandchildren Abbey, Isabelle, Dejanira, Nicholas, and Alexandra Willers; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, mother and father, Clifford and Thelma Boldt, and his mother-in-law Helen Bond and great niece Anna Johnson. May they rest in peace.
