Michael "Boomer" Warner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 5, 2023.
Michael "Boomer" Garry Warner, 58, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on July 30, 2023. He is a loving son, big brother, and father, who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Boomer, as he was affectionately known, had a warm and infectious personality. He cherished his time with his children and loved them very much. Known for being 'a great guy' and a good listener, Mike made friends wherever he went. His smile and laughter were contagious. He had a gentle and caring demeanor, the ladies say he was a 'giant teddy bear'. Mike was a brother to everyone, always protecting and looking out for others and promoting peace.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ortiz; sister, Michele Warner; sister and brother-in-law, Marla Jo and Andrew Kristich; daughter, Kirstie Warner; son, Michael Warner Jr; a niece, and two nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Garry Leroy Warner; stepfather, Raymond M Ortiz; maternal grandparents, Robert and Madalyn Klingman; fraternal grandmother, Gladys Warner; godfather/uncle, Robert Klingman Jr; aunt, Karen Klingman; and aunt and uncle, Bud and Ardath Nefzger.

In his early adulthood, Mike had a variety of interesting jobs, including working as a bouncer at BC's nightclub, at a car auction, a chemical company, and delivering medical supplies. He also served as a supervisor at Home Depot. For the last 20 years, Mike dedicated his career to The Boeing Company as an Electrical Technician. Although he took early retirement in 2018, he decided to return to Boeing in 2022.

Mike was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Bears since his youth. He also enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and Phoenix Suns. During his school years, he participated in various sports, including swimming, football, baseball, and wrestling. He loved competitions. Motorcycles were another passion of his, and he cherished his time riding with the OKOS club. Music played a significant role in Mike's life, and he developed a love for it from a young age when he subscribed to Columbia House for a penny and collected albums from KISS, ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name just a few.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held on August 11th at 4 pm at the East Mesa Moose Lodge in Mesa, AZ. A private burial with immediate family will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society/Stand up to Cancer or Aviant Hospice.

May Mike's memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Mike came to my birthday party, he was such a funny guy. It was really funny because my mom and dad pulled me aside and asked me, "Do you know that kid?" as they pointed to Mike AkA Boomer. I was so confused and said yes of course. I asked why? They said well maybe he's too old to be at my party. I laughed and said I am older than him, he's 15. He overheard us and started laughing. It was because he was so tall and was already starting to grow a beard. LOL So many memories after that day all the way thru school and beyond. So sad to find this out. Miss you my friend.......Debbie Tepner
