Michael Boyd Obituary
Passed suddenly in his home on August 26, 2014 at the tender age of 42. He will be greatly missed by wife and best friend Alicia; father and mother, Mike Sr. and Bernice, Stepfather Harley, brothers Paul, Brent, and Taylor, sister Nancy, his many nieces, his nephew, friends and extended family.
There will be a memorial visitation to celebrate the life of Mike. This will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls from 2 – 4 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My most special memory of "Little Mike" was many, many years ago. He was quite young and had just had surgery on his legs which were both in casts. There wasn't much he was able to do and we were sitting on the front porch blowing bubbles. It was summer time and it had to be at least 80 degrees. I could only imagine how uncomfortable he was in thoses casts, particularly on such a hot day, but there was not one complaint uttered from that sweet little boy. He smiled and giggled and made the best of things. He was so good natured and had such a good heart. This is the memory of "Little Mike" that I will always cherish.

It was very heartbreaking when our daughter Alicia called us with the news of Mike's passing. And because of circumstances beyond our control that do not allow us to be there for her and to say a proper goodbye to Mike I am using this forum to let people know what Mike meant to our family.You came into our world as a bigger than life spirit that just seemed to demand attention without saying a word and I never met anyone who was so totally and completely devoted to anyone as you were to Alicia, you were there for her through all of her trials and tribulations with an unfaltering love and commitment that is very rare in todays world and for that we will be eternally grateful.You were always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it without expectation of repayment, you just felt good helping someone out. You joked with Alicia about getting all of my Maple Leaf memorabilia when I passed and I would quite gladly give it all to you if it would bring you back into our lives, but alas we know this is not possible so I will just hold onto them until we meet again.So with the heaviest of hearts and deepest sorrow we say goodbye and god bless you for enriching our lives if only for a short time.
