Mike was my stepfather who I will greatly miss. He had come into my life when I was around 5 years old, marrying my mother, Deb. I have so many wonderful memories of when they were married and the great life they both provided for my sister, Rhiannon, and I. We took many family trips together and my most favorite was when we went to Durango, Colorado. Mike had quite a sense of humor and could always make us laugh. "Mike, what are we having for dinner," I'd ask. "Food," he would snicker. "What kind of food?" He then would say with a serious look, "American food!" Lol. He taught me the meaning of quality work and made me do chores starting at a young age. I would get so mad, thinking he was too strict. But now I look back and appreciate it. After him and Deb divorced, I would still see him from time to time when he would visit to see Rhea when she lived with me several times over the years or just when she visited in northern Michigan. I'm so thankful that even though our mom and Mike divorced, they remained friends. Mike loved dogs and especially had such love for our dogs when we were young; Sasha, Bow, and Kady. My deepest condolences to my sister, Rhiannon, and Mike's sons, Michael and Mark. Here is the only picture I could find of the four of us when we were all together. RIP Mike, love Sarah

It had been too many years since I seen Uncle Mike... But I will cherish the last time I seen him... He had his camper parked in grandpa's (Jack Burch) driveway... I remember spending night at his house in Michigan when I was only 6 or 7... He told Rhia and I he was going to take us to graveyard that night and leave us... And we believed him. Lol. He was my great uncle.... However a GREAT UNCLE he was! Rest in peace uncle Mike.

To the family of Mike I am very sorry for your loss. I grew up with Mike and the family and remember him traveling around with his boat. The last time he was here to pay condolences to us for the loss of his friend and my brother. Growing up in Pontiac was great, once upon a time. He was a delight to listen to his travel stories.

You were the best Uncle Mike. Playing knock rummy with you and Pete until the wee hours of the morning will always remain one of my fondest memories.
