Michael Lloyd Callaway, 62, passed away on September 4th, 2017. Mike was born December 21st, 1954 in Caldwell, ID to Lawrence 'Larry' Callaway and Rita Robinson. Mike was very passionate about being a wonderful loving husband, father, and amazing grandfather. You could often find him cheering on his grandchildren at a baseball game, wrestling tournament, rodeo, swim class, drama play, 4H County Fair, or even at his granddaughter's gymnastics class. His wife Cindy encouraged him to explore and enjoy the world. They took trips to Italy, France, and Mexico. For his 60th birthday they took a trip to Hawaii. This was a vacation he had dreamed about for years. He spent most of his life in the cattle industry. He viewed a lot of rode miles driving a long haul cattle truck to California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington while working with his dad and brother Larry & Lath Callaway. When at home, you could often find him kicked back in his chair with his two dogs, and typically you could hear the often words of his grandchildren yelling for him "Papa Mike lets get going". Commitment to his family prevailed throughout his life. He was always there to assist, and was a mentor to many.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Callaway, parents Larry (JoAnn) Callaway and Rita Robinson, daughters April (Mike) Strevy, Katie (Bo) Clouss, Megan (Shane) Humphrey, and son Michael (Laura) Callaway, brother Lath (Stacy) Callaway, sisters Cindy Gibson, Shauna (Bill) Peace, Tricia Callaway and Jody (Rob) Miller. Grandchildren include Brodie, Braden, Bryce, Blake & Luke Callaway, Neil Smeltzer Jr., Cheyenne Strevy, Mason & John Sparrell, Murphy, Liam & Ellie Clouss. Nephews include Josh (Tia) Gibson, Cody (Breanna), Casey (Autumn) & Curt (Tess) Callaway, Tyler & Tucker Peace, Bren & Trevor Bostrom, and Nick Mulligan. Nieces include Jessica Robinson, Kristin Lauritzen, Mackenzie Peace, Elizabeth Polen and Lauren & Holly Anderson. Lastly is his beloved dogs Jax and Missy.
He was preceded in death by his brother Luke W Callaway Robinson and his grandparents.
A memorial service will be held on September 11th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 Meridian Rd, Meridian, ID.
