It has been a year Dad since you left us and I miss you terribly. With Ma, Ann and Botchy all around you, I know you are praying for our family. Just one last note to say Thank You for everything. Love you always, Henrietta

Dear Will, Sharon and family,
Deepest sympathy on the passing of Mr. Carey. May he rest in peace. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

In the mid 60's,when lay people started reading in church,Mike was one of the first to do so.
I can close my eyes and see him rise from the front right hand side of the church, impeccably dressed in a dark suit and white shirt and walk slowly to the alter.
It was evident that he had done his homework as he read slowly, clearly and knew how to pronounce any odd names in the passage.
And at the end of Mass,if I encountered him, there was always a smile and a "how are you?"
After all these years,he is still the standard that I measure Readers by in church.
It is sad that another cornerstone of the wonderful community we had at St.Augustine's is gone.

Rest in Peace,Mike.
