Michael Philip Carroll

Michael Philip Carroll 62, of Vero Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on March 14th, 2024. Michael was born and raised in Keene NH, son of the late Thomas and Lorraine Carroll.

He had a spirit for adventure, and a slew of tales to support it. He graduated from Keene State College and spent those college summers working on Nantucket where he made many lifelong friends. New Hampshire always held a special place in Michael's heart. His memories of hunting for dinner with his dad and grandfather never left him. In later years he'd go hunting in those same woods, never to take an animal, but to commune with his dad and grandfather. He remained friends with those whom he grew up with, and loved going to reunions and golf outings with the guys anywhere on the east coast.

Michael had a passion for sports throughout his entire life. He grew up playing football and baseball in Keene. He continued his competitive spirit playing football and other sports in the front yard with his sons and the neighborhood kids. Most recently he enjoyed spending his days out in the sunshine of Florida fishing, kayaking, biking, golfing or playing pickleball. And then there was his love-hate relationship with the gym where he went most days.

Michael worked at IDG Peterborough, NH where he met his wife Bonnie. They had many, many homes (one at a time), in NH, MA and FL because there was nothing better than a new project, a renovation, something to design and recreate. Michael loved outdoor work, whether it was digging in the dirt, snow blowing, lawn mowing in very precise patterns, or just trying to figure out how to make his outdoor space perfect.

Michael had a successful career in executive positions in publishing. He was an excellent relationship builder with clients, had a knack for building and managing teams and launching new entities within mature brands. He worked in a variety of genres, from several worldwide, high-tech publications to women's influencer events, to dermatology publications and events.

Michael leaves his wife, Bonnie Welsh-Carroll, son Zachary (Kate) Carroll, of Seattle, WA, and step sons Jack (Annina) Welsh-Armer of Ebnat-Kappel, Switzerland, and Jesse (Teresa) Welsh-Armer of San Diego, CA.

Michael also leaves his sister Sheryl (Charles) Redfern, and nieces Julia (Dan) Redfern, Megan Redfern, Jessica (Steve) Avignone, and Kyle Warmack, and nephew Sam (Amanda) Bauer. Michael had two grandchildren Ben Armer and Willow Carroll, and her yet to be born sibling. He will be missed by many.
