He was born in Lowell on March 17, 1915, a son of Antonas and Bronislava Chulada, who immigrated to America from Lithuania and Poland. In 1948, Mr. Chulada moved to Littleton and lived there for the next 24 years. He later moved to Florida, and returned to Littleton after his wife's death.
While living in Littleton, Mr. Chulada delivered products for Herpy's Dairy serving residents of Littleton, Groton and Westford. He also did sheet metal work at Warren Manufacturing and Raytheon, and sold auto parts.
Mr. Chulada was a regional director for the Middlesex County Heart Association, where he organized and led the annual heart fund drive in many area towns for several years. He helped create the Littleton Recreation Association in the early 1950's and supported the town's Little League baseball organization. He also served as cub master for the local chapter of the Cub Scouts.
He was an avid and accomplished golfer who was a member of Nabnasset Lake and Groton country clubs, and served on the staff of Boca West Golf Club while living in Florida. He was also a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Helen A. and Edward F. Hunt of Littleton, Sandra M. and Timothy Carr of Jupiter Farms, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael C. and Paula Hughes Chulada of Davis, Calif.; one brother, Anthony Chulada of Lowell; one sister, Jennie Pepe of Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
