Michael Ray Clapp
Michael Ray Clapp, age 62, fell asleep on Thursday, January 19, 2017 and is awaiting the return of our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mike was born in Kalamazoo, MI on August 13, 1954. He grew up in Portage, MI on West Lake with his parents and 3 sisters. Mike loved the lake.
He moved to Colorado Springs 40 years ago, where he stated and ran an HVAC business (Design Systems Heating & Cooling).
Mike and Deborah met in Colorado Springs in 1989, they have been married for 26 years. Deborah joined Mike’s side in running and growing Design Systems.
Mike is survived by his wife, Deborah, three sisters, Kathy Nettles, Becky Klimp and Linda Koon (Rob), Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Niece and Nephews.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ellen Clapp of Portage, MI.
Some of the things Mike and Deborah enjoyed doing together was going to Air Force football games and Formula One car races.
Mike was a patient, wonderful man of great kindness and tenderness of heart. To know Mike was to love Mike. He exemplified the expression ‘he would gladly give the shirt off his back to someone in need’. He was very patriotic.
He loved God and His Word. He loved the believers. He loved his business. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at Mountain View Mortuary on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 5:00p.m. with a reception to follow.

Debbie, So sorry to hear of Mike's death. He was a wonderful neighbor and friend who did all the HVAC work on our addition as well as our rental house. He was joined in the Lord's house this week by my husband Mike who passed away on Jan 26. My prayers are with you. They are probably sitting with Jesus even now. Marcia Clements

I was a client of Mike's from '09-to last fall, the last time I saw him. He always provided excellent service, was in good humor even when he was tired and had patience with me even on Friday afternoons. And of course, we always had to discuss our latest bird sightings and he would tell me of his latest trip to MI, to family and to the lake.. I am stunned and sad to learn of his death. I will miss him ALOT. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I did business with Mike for many years. His honesty, generosity and good humor made his one of those business acquaintances that always felt more like a friendship. I'll miss him.

I worked with Mike when I flipped homes and from what I knew of him, he was a funny and a truly genuine person. He'd get a kick out of trying to get me to go into crawlspaces and of course, this was part of job but if they were too scary, I'd ask him to tell me what he saw and take pics. Of course he would as that was just part of his nature. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and know it's a difficult time. My prayers are with you and your family and God Bless you all.
