Michael Clifford was my best friend when we were kids growing up. His parents were like my second parents. One of the greatest blessings of this lifetime was time spent with my great friend Michael and I feel his presence with me still. Blessings and Light ~ Leland "Terry" Lewis

Michael and I were best friends in our early teens and discovered such wonders as the Beatles, James Bond movies, going on camping trips and endless fun playing sports in the park across from his house. He had the greatest sense of humor and could cause me to fall on the floor laughing. We spent almost every weekend together either at his house or mine. His parents were so good to me and always treated me like another son. I have no doubt that the happiest realms Divine are now his new home. Best Wishes Infinitely to you Michael, we will meet again... Leland "Terry" Lewis

Mike was my first friend when I arrived in LA. We worked together at Joe's Market up in Topanga Cyn, where Mike was in charge of the wine section. We were friends for 33 years, and it's hard to believe he is gone. Farewell friend. My sincere condolences to his son Michael and to his wife Mary

Mary, Michael and everyone who loved Mike...Please know that I share in your loss. Mike was a great friend and was passionate about his interests in life. When I think of Mike I remember him as a Softball teammate, the ultimate camper, proud father, Vin Scully and Chick Hearn fan, music lover (although it was torturous riding in a car with him and his damned NPR!) who was loving and living his dream in the wine country.
I'm grateful for the good times we shared and I know that I'm a better person for having had him in my life.
My cherished last conversation with him was on his 62nd birthday. The conversation, as always, ended with "I love you, Man"! If you love someone, you should always tell them. So, for the last time Mike...."I love you, Man"
Like your beloved campgrounds, you've left the world better than you found it.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We worked together in the wine industry for years and he was always one of my favorite colleagues.

So sorry to see this. My condolences, love and light to Mary and his kids. I was happy to see Mike's love of NPR never faded; we used to make runs to the local NPR studio Sunday nights to watch a favorite show live-The Firesign Theater. Love you Mike, good journey my friend.
