Michael J. Cook, age 64, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born June 16, 1948 in Middletown, Ohio the son of Clarence Elmer and Koneta Harden Cook. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Loveland. Mike loved looking like Santa Clause. He was an A.S.E. Certified Mechanic for more than 40 years, and was the first Master Technician for General Motors in southwest Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan Irene Williamson Cook; father Clarence E. Cook of Martinsville; children, Melissa (Greg) Edwards of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Michele Cook of Martinsville, Michael J. (Kimberly) Cook, II of Wilmington, and Melinda Cook of Wilmington; grandchildren, Catherine Edwards, Bryce Edwards, Margret Cook, Trent Cook, Emily Cook, Lindsey Cook, and Matthew Cook; siblings, Stephen (Patty) Cook of Greenfield, Sarah (Richard) Workman of Xenia, Cecelia (Ron) Dougan of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and Catherine (Charles) Greenburg of Okeechobee, Florida; aunt Naomi Jean Gerber of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Koneta Cook. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery near Sinking Spring. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Outreach International, P.O. Box 210, Independence, Missouri, 64051.
