Michael Warren Davis TARRYTOWN- Michael Warren Davis, 35, of Tarrytown, N.Y., and a former resident of Modena and Stone Ridge, N.Y., died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his home. Mike was born in Kingston May 29, 1980 the son of Warren and Carol Irwin Davis. Michael was the Chief Technology Officer of SecondMarket, which was acquired by Nasdaq in October of 2015. Mike’s role as CTO and Chief Architect was instrumental in the design and deployment of SecondMarket’s technology, which was a major factor in Nasdaq’s decision to acquire SecondMarket. After the acquisition, Michael oversaw the design of applications and technology infrastructure at NASDAQ Private Market. Michael spent his early life in Stone Ridge then moved to Modena and attended school in Wallkill, graduating in 1998. He received several scholarships for college including the IBM Watson Scholarship and the USC President’s Scholarship. He studied software architecture at USC. He began work at SecondMarket a short time later and rose to the position of CTO (Corporate Technical Officer) there. Mike lived in Tarrytown and commuted to NYC for his work at both companies. Michael liked music and was an accomplished guitarist. He also liked driving his Porsche 911 Carrera (especially from Tarrytown to “home” in Stone Ridge). He also enjoyed riding his Ducati motorcycle when the weather was nice. Mike is survived by his parents, Carol and Warren Davis of Stone Ridge; his sister, Dorothy Bodie of Stone Ridge; his nieces, Emily and Madelyn Bodie; his sister, Kimberly Becker of Modena; his nieces, Danielle Becker and Amanda Russell-Dailey of Modena; and a grandmother, Elizabeth Irving-Davis-Kruger of Rhinebeck, N.Y. His funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Rev.Arlene Dawber will officiate.
