Michael David "Mike" Dolan

May 26, 1949 – June 24, 2025

Michael David Dolan, lovingly known as Mike, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 76. Born on May 26, 1949, in San Francisco, California and graduated from Hogan High School in Vallejo, California, in 1967. Mike lived a full and meaningful life rooted in love, curiosity, and quiet strength.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Anita Dolan, with whom he shared countless memories, laughter-filled mornings, and deep, abiding love. Together, they created a beautiful life-rich in simple joys like crossword puzzles over coffee, weekends in Napa Valley, and evenings filled with music, home-cooked meals, and family games.

He is also survived by his loving children: Amanda Thomson, Sharron Lee, Aaron Jameyson, Caree Crossman, and Curtis Passalaqua; and by his 14 grandchildren.

Mike is remembered fondly by his surviving siblings: Preston Sandusky, Stacey Sandusky, and Kelsey Muth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Sandusky; father, Michael James Dolan (who heroically lost his life in the Korean War); stepfather, N.E. Sandusky; and siblings Rhonda Rose, Catherine Smith, and Frank Sager.

Professionally, Mike dedicated over three decades to Bechtel Corporation as an executive in Information Technology, serving in both the San Francisco and Glendale offices from 1974 until his retirement in 2010. His intelligence, steady leadership, and integrity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Mike's passions reflected the breadth of his spirit. He loved the roar of a racetrack, the quiet focus of golf with friends, the comfort of a classic oldie, and the satisfaction of completing the New York Times crossword-always with a strong cup of coffee in hand. Retirement brought him even closer to his beloved Anita, with whom he shared some of his happiest years.

In a final act of generosity and grace, Mike made the remarkable decision to donate his body to science. On the night he passed, his family honored his wishes and began the process of his transition into education. He is now with the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he will serve as a full-body anatomical donor to support the learning of future medical professionals. After his time as an educator-expected to last up to two years-his remains will be cremated and returned to his family. His legacy, quite literally, will live on in every student he helps shape.

We are deeply moved by this final chapter of his story and take great comfort in knowing that Mike's life continues to inspire, teach, and give back. His was a life well lived-full of love, wisdom, wit, and kindness.

Mike was my Supervisor in Phoenix for several years. I enjoyed my time working for and with him. So sorry for his loss.

Mike was a true reflection of the Hogan High Class of `67. In high school he was kind and yet silly, considerate, and thoughtful. I have only good memories of Mike when we would talk about things. He always had fun and witty comments. His likes of music, classic cars, fun with family, and cherished times with his wife each describe members of our class. Along with his service of sharing his body with those learning to be doctors, may he rest comfortably at peace. May his loved ones know that: "He was one of the good guys!"

To the Dolan Family:
What an honor it was to know Mike and to know how much he loved his family. After reading his obituary it is a great honor to know he is sharing his whole body to the education of others that he may save another. What a great gift he has chosen to give.
I remember fondly that prom date with Amanda and Mike with Dennis and Angela. Two Dads honoring their little girls. So glad we have pictures to cherish.
Mike, I think you have earned a place with Our Lord for your generosity in sharing yourself and your malady with others to help learn how to help others.
God speed, my friend.

This was such a beautiful tribute to our Mike. And what a fantastic thing to do....donating himself to help mankind in ways that could cure disease and to educate. We all loved you Mike, and have lotsa great memories that will keep you in our hearts forever. Rest peacefully.
