Michael Logan Dopler, 49, of
Las Vegas, Nevada passed away suddenly on February 3rd, 2025, after suffering an injury while battling a major health condition.
Michael, or "Dop" as he was known as by many, was born on November 4th, 1975, in East Liverpool, Ohio.
He graduated from East Liverpool City High School in 1994, after becoming a celebrated varsity track and cross-country runner. Immediately after graduation, he went on to join the United States Air Force. He worked at Langley AFB, VA as an F-15 Crew Chief. In 1995, he deployed first to Saudi Arabia, and in 1996 to Jordan. In1997, he deployed once again to Saudi Arabia. He later returned to the U.S. where he finished out his length of service stationed at Nellis AFB, NV. Some special decorations he received for his service include Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
Then, Michael began his career as a government contractor at Nellis AFB, NV. After several years, he eventually became the Lead Operations Analyst at the Bering Sea Environmental office on base. He worked closely with fighter pilots during Red Flag and other important government exercises and was fondly known by many people on base. He was extremely dedicated to his career and was even named "Employee of the Quarter" for all of BSE in 2019.
In 2012 Michael married Kimberly Kendall and in 2016 the couple went on to have Brielle Kendall Dopler. Brielle was the absolute light of Micheal's life! He was the exceptional, hands-on father that you rarely see. He especially loved outside activities with her like playing at the park, swimming, biking, and playing ball.
Michael had a few special interests that he pursued earlier in his life. One was working as a live House music DJ in many popular night clubs in both downtown Chicago and the Las Vegas Strip. His music was often featured on a leading Chicago radio station. For many years he enjoyed competing as a semi-professional motocross rider. He was sponsored by companies like Go-Pro, Monster, Spy +, and Fly Racing. One of his most esteemed accomplishments was winning first place in his category at the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix in November of 2014. After retiring from motocross, he went on to enjoy long distance trips riding his Triumph Scrambler and later on his more versatile Honda Africa Twin. On this adventure bike, he was sponsored by Nelson-Rigg motorcycle apparel and luggage company and even starred in a commercial for them! After deciding to retire the motorcycles for good, he then turned to mountain biking, both standard and electric.
Micheal also loved to travel. His most favorite places to visit with his family were Disneyland and Cozumel, Mexico. Cozumel is where he discovered his love of the ocean through snorkeling and becoming a certified SCUBA diver. Through his love of diving and his desire to help people, Michael also was training to become a certified deep water rescue diver.
He dabbled in photography and videography throughout his life. But most recently, he became quite an amateur cook. Experimenting with new foods and recipes became one of his favorite hobbies! He also became a big baseball fan. Not only did he love tossing the ball in the park with his daughter, friends and neighbors, but he traveled several times to Anaheim to watch his favorite team, The Angels, play.
His family would like it to be known that it was Michael's wish to become an organ donor. Because of his selfless gift, his family has received a hero's medal in his honor.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kimberly; their daughter, Brielle; his parents, Cindi and John Chevront; step-siblings, Johnny, Michelle, and Kara Chevront; half-brothers, Jake and Jess Dopler; along with many beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.
