Michael George Farmar

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael George Farmar who lost his battle with cancer on July 31, 2023. While his departure has left us heartbroken, we find comfort in knowing that he is now free from pain and suffering and with our Blessed Lord.

Michael was born in Denver, Colorado, on February 1, 1958. He received a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Michael had a long, fulfilling career spanning both the oil and gas and agriculture industries. He remained a Dallas resident for the rest of his life.

Michael was a natural born leader whose exceptional kindness, warmth, and unwavering compassion touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a beloved father, son, and brother, as well as a devoted friend, mentor, and confidant to many. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy built upon his commitments to his faith, family, businesses, and community. As he journeyed through life, Michael excelled in his pursuits, among which were skiing, good scotch, good food, and world travel.

Michael's passing is mourned by his sons Logan (Ashley), Baron, and Jackson, grandson Jack, brother Gary (Sarah), sister Patty (Larry), and nephews Geoffrey and Byron Farmar. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Julene Farmar. He will forever be cherished and remembered by his extended family, friends, and colleagues.

The memorial service to honor his life and legacy will take place at The Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday, September 28th at 3:00PM. We welcome all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate the impactful life he lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Focus on the Family in his memory. The contributions will be directed towards a cause that was close to his heart, continuing his passion for making the world a better place.

As we mourn the loss of Michael, we find solace in the beautiful memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed, and the valuable life lessons he taught us. Though his physical presence may be gone, his love and influence will continue to guide us on our paths.
