Michael Fernandez Obituary
He was preceded in death by his mother Joan Ketchum, his sister Susan Fernandez and his brother John Ketchum.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, as a radioman in Vietnam.
After the war he joined California Department of Fire and Forestry-CALFIRE, working for various departments throughout his career including the airport [Ryan Field] first summer. rru bdu tgu Owens Valley , rru - Beaumont, Sage, Corona, Perris, San Jacinto, Bautista. bdu-Yucaipa, Loma Linda, Mentone, Highland, Crafton Hills.tgu-Valleyview and Conservation (CALFIRE) Camps. Owens Valley, and Lakeland Village. During his career he worked with the Camp Program Inmate Firefighters, something he enjoyed doing and retired as Captain (twice! In 2000 and 2009) after 32 years.
After retirement he relaxed with his wife, his dogs and his family. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched
