Michael D. Genet 58; 1967 Providence gradFuneral services for Michael Dennis Genet, 58, of Mount Vernon, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St. in Mt.Vernon. He died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at his home.He was born July 7, 1949, the son of James D. and Mildred (Hall) Genet in Tell City. He was a facility manager at Cinergy Communications for the past three years, retiring in 2007 and had retired after 27 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He was a 1967 graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School and earned an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue. He had attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evansville. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and travel.Survivers include his wife of 24 years, Sherry (Sherretz) Genet; a son, Travis Genet, Evansville; two grandchildren, Jacob and Madison Genet; parents, James and Mildred Genet, Jeffersonville; brother, Bob Genet, New Albany; a sister, Sherry Hack and her husband Tony, Clarksville; a brother-in-law, David Lindsey, Eckerty, Ind.; nieces; nephews; and cousins.He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Genet in 1990; and a sister, Becky Lindsey in 1998.Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the funeral home.
