Michael J. Hallinan a resident of Schaumburg for 39 years Michael J. Hallinan, 64, was the beloved husband of 41 years to Barbara (nee Stevenson); loving father of Beth (AJ) Thorson, Susan Spallone and Katie Hallinan; devoted grandfather of Nicholas and Breanna Spallone, and Justin, Riley and Natalie Thorson; dear brother of Diane and Brian (Linda), and the late Edward and Patrick (Camille) Hallinan; brother-in-law of Stuart, Shane and Barry (Rhonda) Stevenson and Suanne (Sal) Bongiovanni; son of the late Francis and Adele; and son-in-law of Stuart and the late Betty Stevenson. Michael retired from Eastern Airlines and DHL. Michael fought a courageous battle with cancer and spent his precious time with his loving family by his side. Michael was an avid storyteller, and was admired and loved by many. He will be remembered for his kindness and love and dedication to his family. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg. Prayers will be said Saturday, at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Marcelline Catholic Church, 820 S. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. For funeral information, 847-882-5580.

I was unaware of Mike's passing and want to extend Doreen's and my sympathy to you Barb and the girls. It has been a number of years since we have seen each other. I apologize for the birthday wish not knowing of his passing. May God bless all of you! Doreen and I have many fond memories of times we all spent together with basketball, and ladies softball at CHS.

Mr. Hallinan was so devoted to his family...I will always remember his love for all those the ladies in his life; he was out numbered but never alone in the Hallinan house. He loved his grandkids dearly and history as well. I know he is educating those above as we speak. My heart is heavy for Mrs. Hallinan, Beth, Susan and Katie but I hope they can find comfort in all their amazing memories.

Uncle Mike, you were always so good with all the kids, and treated Nicole like she was your granddaughter, you took her fishing, we colored Easter eggs, made Christmas cookies, saw the tree and had lunch at the Walnut room. These are all memories that Nicole and I will cherish. Thank you for being such an amazing uncle, we love you so much!

You called me your 4th Daughter and I called you my Dad...life sure isn't going to be the same without you, but I am so glad you aren't suffering anymore! Mike, I loved you with all my heart and I cherished all of our time together! Barbara was your Angel watching over you all these years and now you are her Angel watching over her and your family!
