MICHAEL R. HOUGH
Michael R. Hough, age 65, of Kahoka, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He had suffered a heart attack on November 28, 2017.
Mike was born August 12, 1952 in Keokuk, IA, a son of Harold F. and Ruby Sleight Hough.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby, with whom he made his home; siblings: Harold "Butch" (Candy) Hough, Jr. off Keokuk, Durinda Boggus of Ewing, Linda (Keith) Wilson of Kahoka, Joyce (Larry) Young of Kahoka, Mickey (Paul) Ayer of Wyaconda, Richard (Linda) Hough of Donna, TX and Becky (DeWayne) DeBrouse of Indianola; as well as nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, and grandparents, Otis and Mary Hough, Florence Franks, and William Sleight.
Mike nurtured under the loving care of his family and loved each and every one of his nieces and nephews. He brought a lot of joy to his family and was loving and sharing in anything that he did. As a youngster, Mike loved to go roller skating. He was no stranger as he enjoyed walking and could be seen most days walking around Kahoka. One of his joys was going to Cookie’s each day to drink water and tea and on Fridays, eat fish. He had his special place to sit there and spend an hour or so each day.
He was a faithful member of Trinity Worship Center and loved going to church and listening to gospel music. In addition to walking, he also loved to go fishing and deer hunting.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA.
Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka after 9 a.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6-9 p.m.
