I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Mike's passing.....I was looking up his office number to refer a Cleveland based patient, and I learned of his passing. Mike helped me immensely as a fellow dentist and as a friend. He took care of my then almost 4 year old son when he suffered a severe oral injury. His expertise was almost boundless. Whenever I would refer patients to him I always told them "I trusted him with my son's care, so you can trust him as well." And Mike never failed that test. He was not only a great oral surgeon, but just a tremendous human being with great faith in the Lord. I know he was welcomed into heaven with open arms. May he rest in peace

Remembering Dr. Hudec is a blessed memory. He restored my health and life before cancer could take it because he believed in living and taking care of things in the moment. He realized that the only reality is the "now", to be in touch. The thing that we leave behind is a great spiritual something because that's what we are. Dr. Hudec left that to everyone and others now will be more. Life is God's gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to God. Dr. Hudec made it a fantastic one. The purpose of life is to matter -- to count, to stand for something, to have it make some difference that we lived at all..... Dr. Hudec was such a blessing. God Bless all his loved ones. I was so saddened when I read the news. While I hadn't talked to Huuudie in 30 years .... I know we would have picked up where we left off! He was a great friend ... and Mike and the Hudec family were a huge part of my time at Ignatius! My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family ... I know he's stilll with us all!

I only met Mike a couple of times after he moved in across the street from us on Folley Rd. My wife met him professionally. For some surgery. He was a very nice person. My sympathy to all that knew him well. Bill Stec

I KNEW DR. HUDEC, BUT FOR A BRIEF TIME. WE SHARED SOME OF LIFES STORIES AND MANY GOLF EXPERIENCES.
THOUGH THE MEETING WAS BRIEF, HE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR A LIFE TIME.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Hudec Family during this incredibly painful time. The world has truly lost a great man, while heaven has gained an amazing angel. Mike's compassion and kindness went a long way to touch all those who came in contact with him. He would do anything humanly possible to help those in need and was always there to provide comfort, compassion and a kind word. He was a man who followed God's calling and was loved by all. Thank you for allowing us to know and love him, and until we meet again....

To the HUDEC family my deepest sympathy. Im disabled and i once was a patient had my teeth pulled by him he was very kind. the best doctor.
My mom also saw him and she thought he was great.

I was just informed of Mike's passing this evening and was just shocked. My sincere condolences to the entire Hudec Family. Mike was taken much too soon. His life was a life that should certainly be celebrated. God Bless

I was fortunate to know Mike during our dental school years. He was a great friend of mine while in Columbus.
He will be truly missed by all who have had the pleasure to share time with him.

He was a "God-send"... a gift and a blessing in disguise when I was referred to seeing Dr. Hudec. I was scared and full of anxiety.
I didn't have health insurance at the time.
He knew I had cancer and knew I didn't have time for a definite diagnosis and waiting weeks for the results. Instead, he immediately performed the surgical procedure that saved my life. He was gentle, kind, loving, caring and always had an open door to see me whenever I needed more help. There was never a charge even when I had health insurance later. It was never about the money. He referred me to best specialist, Dr. Stepnick, for my continued health issues. He was an angel in disguise.
Each death leaves an empty place in hearts that only loving memories can fill. May he rest in peace. I will cherish loving memories and truly miss him. God Bless.

I was a 25 year patient of Dr Hudec. I am so very sad to hear of his passing. He was a master of his profession... the very best oral surgeon, and a very kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest In Peace, Dr. Hudec.

Mike and I were classmates at Ohio State followed by oral surgery training at different programs. Early on, there were many phone calls to one another bemoaning the training rigors, but we always found a way to have a good laugh. I remember Mike as a conscientious person who enjoyed having a good time. It's been over 31 years since we left OSU, but the dental education process instills a lasting bond. As such, with Mike's passing, the Class of 1987 has lost a kindred spirit. My sincerest condolences to Mike's family.

Our first memory of Mike was 15 years ago when we moved to Westlake:
Mike was standing at the lectern at our church, asking for ideas & help to raise money for St. B and, of course, my husband, Nate, stood up to volunteer to start a carnival. They were off & running and quickly became friends. They pulled it off & we had a really good time planning it together for several years.
Mike also became our family's oral surgeon. As a dental hygienist, it is important to find the best doctors & Mike was one of the best! I am going to miss his advice & expertise.
The Hudec's were the first family to befriend us in the parish. We will never forget the celebrations, OSU parties, impromptu pool parties, etc...at their home.
Mike was a very kind, caring & giving man to his friends and we are glad to have known him. He will be dearly missed, both personally and professionally.
