Michael W. James

James (Dimitri) Michael W. James, age 89, of Grove City, passed away November 11, 2015. He retired from Westinghouse and McElroy-Minister. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He served as a gunner's mate in the Pacific. Mike was born January 13, 1926 to the late Michael W. and Frances James in Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by his first wife Ida and her son Fred Greene and second wife Pauline, daughter Darlene Gibson, and grandson Jeremy Umel. Survived by daughters, Karen (Elaine) Greene of FL, Linda (Patrick) Erwin of Grove City, and Deborah James of Grove City, OH; son, Michael (Teresa) James of Grove City; stepson, Harold Greene. He was one of eight siblings; three brothers and five sisters; survived by Alex James (Pauley); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other friends as well as his beloved pet and companion, Kristy. Friends may call at the OR WOODYARD CO SOUTH CHAPEL, 1346 South High St., on Sunday, November 15, from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Grove City, 3301 Orders Rd., on Monday at 11 a.m. Pastor Jerry Neal officiating. Interment at Northlawn Memory Gardens.
