Michael Kane Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2018.
Michael Brian Kane Sr. August 15th, 1957 - July 2nd, 2018 Michael would like to let you know that his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of offer you can't refuse. It's an all access pass into the "pearly gates," including a meeting with The Big Man upstairs from which he will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends he has not seen in a long time, job security is exactly 110 percent. His new mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be rowing at White Sands Beach, playing basketball for Barney's, and enjoying a card game with some old friends; all until the new episode of Seinfeld comes on. Foo Fighters, Rod Stewart, and even some Aerosmith songs are on the playlist. Food is all you can eat: surf and turf from Bum Rogers. You never gain an ounce, and coffee milkshakes from Dairy Queen are available 24-7. He left detailed instructions for his wife and children to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed: "Rebecca, live your life as though I am still cheering you on in the stands during your final lap and never forget to leave it in the pool: Erica, navigate your life like you would trying to get across the basketball court: Michael, continue to boldly go where no one has gone before, and remember to party on: Wesley, look at your future with as much anticipation as we did for each new episode of Game of Thrones: Mikaela, bring as much joy and grace to people's lives as you do on the dance floor: Linda, continue to be the extraordinary mother you have been and help our kids complete these instructions successfully. Low adherence to these instructions will not be tolerated. And as for me, I want to thank my wife and children for giving me a life that I never thought was possible." Michael Brian Kane was born in Chatham, New Jersey on August 15, 1957. His parents were the late Vincent and Mary Kane. His brothers are Tim, Peter, and the late Donald Kane. He moved to Seaside Park, New Jersey in 1982 where he met his wife of 33 years, Linda Andrews Kane. Together they had five children, Rebecca of Bradley Beach, New Jersey, Erica of Manchester, Connecticut, Michael Jr. of Brick, New Jersey, and Wesley and Mikaela of Bedford, New Hampshire. Michael owned and operated Kane Roofing Company for over 30 years, and most recently was the general manager of Eagle Rivet Roof Services, Massachusetts. His energy and humor live on, as will the memories he, his family and friends made together. A special thank you to Ted Boylan for taking Mike under your wing and giving him hope.

The Moriarty family all Loved Mike! We have such wonderful memories from swimming at UNA with Rebecca and Laura. Mike always had such great excitement, drive and love for his daughter swimming in the pool! He not only loved watching his girl but also found a love for all the other girls swimming! Mike was a pleasure to be with and we loved his enthusiasm for the UNC team! We loved hanging out with him because he was so positive and full of life! We send our thoughts and prayers to his family, especially Rebecca whom we love!!
Love The Moriarty family!!!!

So very sorry to hear of Michael's passing. What an extrodinary man. I will always remember his humor and his knowledge of politics and sports. The "big man" was indeed one of a kind. Knew Michael and his whole family from Chatham. He will surely be missed. Prayers to his whole family.

I knew Mike from a young girl. We went to St. Pats together and he lived a few blocks from me. I was always over on Hillside Avenue in Chatham playing with Mike and all the kids on the block. We also went to Chatham High together. He was a great guy! So sorry for your loss.

Linda and family. May you find peace in the knowledge that he is with the Father. An angel is learning how to fly to watch over you forever. I am so sorry for your loss. Nick and Bea Scafidi
