Michael E. Kerwin

Michael E. (Big Mike) Kerwin, 66, formerly of Gowrie, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stratford. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Reading Township Cemetery, Farnhamville, with Pastor Craig Vote officiating (if attending graveside service, please meet at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16.) Military rites will be by American Legion Post #510, Farnhamville. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie. Michael is survived by his sons, Pat and Jim Kerwin of Gowrie; daughter, Jennifer (Dan) Peterman of Webster City; grandchildren, Ally; Luke; Aubrey; sisters, Jean; JoAnn; Cathy; Patty; Susie; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Alice (Gebel) Kerwin; son, Johnathan; and sister, Mickey. Michael E. Kerwin was born April 28, 1949 at DeKalb, IL and attended school there. He graduated from Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge. Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was united in marriage to Linda Schoeberlein on September 2, 1972, and the couple later divorced. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
